Wednesday, 14th May 2025 – Sensori, part of the Sisk Group, is celebrating World FM Day – a day dedicated to recognising the invaluable contribution of facilities management professionals and the pivotal role they play in shaping, sustaining, and optimising the built environment.
This year’s theme, “Resilience in Action: Thriving in a World of Change,” honours the determination and adaptability of FM professionals—those who keep our workplaces running, our buildings efficient, and our environments safe, sustainable, and future-ready.
World FM Day is not just a celebration—it’s a platform to spotlight the often-unsung work of facilities managers. These professionals are the driving force behind the operational excellence, sustainability goals, and technological advancements that define today’s-built environment.
“One of our key principles is to optimise our environmental impact—by leveraging the latest building management technologies, improving resource and waste efficiency, and engaging clients through the sustainability journey. World FM Day is an opportunity to recognise the teams leading these advancements every day,” said Anthony Dunne, Regional FM Manager, Sensori.
FM in Action: The Sisk HQ, Citywest Project
To mark World FM Day, we are highlighting our recent collaboration with Sisk, our parent company, on their headquarters in Citywest – a fully self-delivered facilities management project that demonstrates the critical role FM plays from both a strategic and operational perspective.
Working in partnership with Sisk, Sensori delivered multiple FM services but one key area was an integrated package of access control, intruder alarm, CCTV, and video intercom systems, underpinned by key FM principles: physical security, data protection, user experience, and systems integration.
Facilities managers were central to the planning and execution of this project—guiding system selection, ensuring alignment with long-term building needs, and embedding resilience and flexibility into the solution.
With health and safety at the forefront, the installed systems were integrated with the building’s fire alarm network—allowing emergency door release and automatic muster reports during drills or real events. We’re also exploring new capabilities, such as generating live displays of fire marshals and first aiders on-site—enhancing real-time emergency response, safety visibility, and staff confidence.
Commenting on the importance of world FM day, Jennifer McCullagh, Facilities Director added, “At Sensori, we see facilities management as a key enabler of long-term value in the built environment. Our collaboration with Sisk reflects what’s possible when innovation meets deep operational insight. On World FM Day, we celebrate the people behind the systems – the FM professionals who deliver resilience, excellence, and impact every single day.”
Driving the Future of FM
The Sisk HQ project is part of a broader industry shift – from traditional, reactive maintenance models to forward-thinking, digitally enabled, and environmentally conscious FM strategies. Technologies like BIM, AI, and smart building platforms are unlocking new opportunities for FM teams to lead on energy efficiency, sustainability, and lifecycle planning.
In this changing landscape, the role of the facilities manager is more important than ever. They are the connectors between design and operations, sustainability and compliance, technology and people.
We believe in a future where facilities management is not just a support function—but a strategic driver of innovation and sustainability across every stage of the built environment.
So on World FM Day, we say thank you – to the facilities managers who ensure our spaces thrive, adapt, and endure. You are the backbone of our buildings, and the foundation of a better tomorrow.
